Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of SwapUs (the “Service”), operated by the platform owner (“SwapUs”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Community Guidelines and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
• If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
• You may not use the Service if you have previously been banned from it.

• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• One person, one account. Accounts are personal and may not be sold or transferred.

SwapUs is a platform that helps members find each other and arrange two-way skill swaps. Members who teach are independent community members, not employees, agents or contractors of SwapUs.

We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, suitability or outcome of any teaching. Skills are self-reported unless marked verified, and a verified badge reflects only a review of submitted evidence at a point in time.

• SwapUs is a two-way skill exchange. Every exchange is a swap of two sessions: one where you teach another member and one where they teach you. Swaps themselves never cost anything: there are no credits, points or fees for swapping, chat, calls or matching. The only paid feature is the optional SwapUs Premium pass described below.
• SwapUs does not arrange, accept or process payments between members. Asking for or offering money in connection with a swap is not allowed.
• Achievements and badges are recognition only. They have no monetary value and cannot be bought, sold or transferred.

• SwapUs Premium is an optional, prepaid pass (daily, weekly, monthly or yearly) that raises some limits and adds extra features, as listed on the Premium page. Core swapping, chat, calls and matching stay free for everyone.
• Prices are shown in Indian rupees (INR) before you pay. Passes do not renew automatically: a pass simply ends at the time shown in Settings. Buying another pass adds time on top of any time you have left.
• Payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. SwapUs never sees or stores your card, UPI or bank details. Your use of the payment form is also subject to Razorpay's terms.
• Refunds and cancellations are covered by our Refund & cancellation policy.
• Premium is personal to your account and cannot be transferred. If your account is suspended or closed for breaking these Terms or the Guidelines, unused Premium time may be lost, except where the law requires otherwise.
• We may change Premium features or prices for future purchases; a pass you have already bought keeps its length.

• Requests and sessions follow the process described on How it works.
• Each session of a swap is scheduled, confirmed, cancelled and disputed on its own. Cancelling one session does not cancel the other.
• Cancellations made inside the cancellation deadline are late. Late cancellations carry no fee but are recorded and may affect your reliability, matching and achievements.
• Disputes and no-show reports are reviewed by a person, who decides whether the session took place. That decision is final within the Service.
• Confirm sessions honestly. Fraudulent confirmations or disputes may lead to account restrictions.

• All swaps take place inside the Service. Once a swap is accepted, chat, voice and video calls open between the two members, and both sessions are held there. SwapUs does not support in-person sessions or external meeting links.
• You must not share personal contact details, including phone numbers, email addresses, links, social media accounts or handles, or ask another member to communicate outside the Service. SwapUs automatically checks messages, swap requests, notes, posts and profiles for such details and refuses to send them.
• Each attempt counts as a warning. After 3 warnings, a further attempt pauses your chat, calls and swap requests for 24 hours. You can still sign in and browse while paused. Repeated or serious breaches may lead to further restrictions under these Terms.

SwapUs does not run background checks on members. Keep your personal details private, stay within SwapUs’s chat and calls, and end a call or block and report a member if you feel uncomfortable.

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

You keep ownership of the content you post. You grant SwapUs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and process it as needed to operate, moderate and improve the Service.

You are responsible for what you post and must have the right to share it. Community content is checked by automated moderation before publication and may be held, blocked or removed.

Optional AI features provide suggestions that are labelled and may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for how you use them. AI features do not make decisions about account restrictions or disputes.

You must follow the Community Guidelines. You must not misuse the Service, including by attempting to access data you are not authorised to see, interfering with its operation, de-anonymising other members, scraping, or using it for unlawful purposes.

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may restrict, suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or the Guidelines, if required by law, or to protect members or the Service. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and how to appeal.

On termination, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

The Service is an early-stage product provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or that it will be error-free. Features may change or be removed.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SwapUs is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for the conduct of members. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

We may update these Terms. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you in the Service. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.

The governing law and venue for disputes will be specified here once the operating entity is confirmed.
