Everyone knows something worth teaching
SwapUs is a community where people swap skills, and only swap. You teach someone what you know, they teach you what you want to learn, and you both grow.
Our mission
Make learning a two-way street
Good teaching is often locked behind price tags, and many people with real skills never get the chance to share them. Yet almost everyone has something they could teach: a language they grew up with, a tool they use every day, a craft they practise on weekends.
SwapUs connects those people, two at a time. If you know guitar and want to learn Spanish, you only meet people who teach Spanish and want something you teach. Nobody just learns and nobody just teaches, so every conversation starts with something to give. The goal is simple: more people learning from each other, and a portfolio of real progress to show for it.

Reciprocity
Every member both teaches and learns. Every swap goes both ways, so everyone gives as much as they get.
Explainability
Match suggestions show their reasons, including why the swap works in both directions. No black boxes.
Honesty
Self-reported skills are labelled as such. We don’t invent reviews, user counts or success stories.
Fairness
Clear cancellation rules, a reliability record instead of fees, and human review for consequential decisions.
Privacy
We collect what we need to run the service, keep community posts anonymous to other members, and keep AI opt-in.
Growth
Achievements and learning records celebrate progress, not popularity.
Safety
How we keep people safe
Safety is enforced in the product and the database, not just promised in a policy.
Moderation before publication
Community text and images are checked by an automated moderation provider before they appear. Borderline content is held for human review.
Real anonymity in the community
Posts carry a random alias, not a profile, and aliases aren’t reused across threads. Identity can be disclosed only through an audited, owner-only process for serious cases.
Human review for decisions that matter
Bans, verification and dispute outcomes are decided by people. AI features never make those decisions.
Reporting, blocking and appeals
Report people or content, and appeal decisions about your own content. Reported content can be hidden while it is reviewed.

Where we are today: an early MVP
SwapUs is a young product. That means a few honest caveats:
- The community is just getting started, and two-way matches need someone on the other side, so there may not yet be a match for every skill or time zone. Listing more skills you teach and want helps.
- We can’t guarantee the quality of any lesson. Teachers are community members, and most skills are self-reported.
- There are no credits, payments or partner perks. Achievements are recognition only.
- AI features are optional, clearly labelled, and can make mistakes.
- Our policies are working drafts that will be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before a full public launch.
- Features and rules may change as we learn. When they do, we’ll update these pages.
